You have four choices for point-to-point travel within Bir: on foot, taxi, bus and bring your own car.
- Walking is the best way for getting around in small township of Bir.
- Taxi Stand, located in the Tibetan Colony (Lower Bir), offers small and big cars, including Maruti Alto and Maruti Dzire. The blue line differentiates taxis from private vehicles. Minimum tariff is INR 50.00.
- Limited public and private bus service is available. Mainly small buses with two by two seat arrangement ply within the town. During the day, buses are not over crowded. You can catch the bus from Chogwan Chowk in Lower Bir. The bus fares are nominal. After 6 O’ clock in the evening, there is no bus service or it is occasional. The main bus stand is in Upper Bir.
- Bring your car and enjoy the freedom of roaming around in the town anytime. However, remember that the mountain roads are narrow and steep at many places.
