Sikkim Home Stay Rules: 2 Responsibilities of Prescribed Authority

The Sikkim Registration of Home Stay Establishment Rules (2013) details responsibilities of the Prescribed Authority. Here are two responsibilities:

1. Application Acknowledgement (Rule 7)

The authority shall acknowledge the receipt of the home stay registration application and the registration fee.

The acknowledgement shall specify

  1. the date of receiving the application and
  2. the fee received.

2. Registration Certification (Rule 8)

The authority shall issue the Certificate of Registration to the applicant if the application is not rejected under the Rule 9.

The certificate features three unique numbers besides name of the home stay owner and the location of the unit:

  1. Registration Number
  2. Serial Number
  3. Volume Number

The certificate format is given in the Annexure IV of the Rules 2013. Here is the format:

“This is to certify that homestay of Shri….. located at…..has been registered under the Registration of Home Stay Establishment Rules, 2013 vide Registration number….Serial no…..Volume no…….District….”
