The 8-kilometer long Forest Trek connects Nepali Forest Lodge to Kansal Forest Lodge. The steep trek, meandering through three hillocks, runs along the Forest Department’s fire line. You need permission from the Chief Wild Life Warden for the trek. The Office of the warden is at Old Architect Building, Madhya Marg, Sector 19-B, Chandigarh. Nepali and Kansal forests are reserve forests near Kansal Village located on the northern edge of the city. You may spot hares, jackals, hyena, neelgais and antelopes while trekking through these forests. Both the forests are part of the Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary.
