GOI Introduces T-VoA

The Government of India (GOI) introduced Tourist Visa on Arrival scheme (T-VoA) for the citizens ofSingapore,New Zealand, Luxembourg, Japan and Finland in view of the Commonwealth Games 2010. The citizens who wish to meet their relatives and friends, go for sight seeing and travel for recreation in India can get the T-VoA provided they fulfill all criteria of a normal tourist visa such as a proof of having sufficient money required to stay in India and a valid passport.

T-VoA, a non-convertible and non-extendable visa, is applicable for a single entry into the country for maximum of 30 days. The visa, costing USD 60.00 per passenger, will be issued only at the airports of Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai andDelhi. In one calendar year, just two visits are permissible on the T-VoA but there should be a gap of two months between the visits.
