Raj Mahal Hotel in Mandi: A Standard Room Review

Raj Mahal Hotel, a centrally located mid-end hotel in Mandi, is a neighbor and competitor of The Regent Palms. I paid at the rate of INR 1,606 per person, per night, inclusive of luxury tax (10%) and service tax (8.70%) for a standard room in Raj on March 27, 2017.

The Raj Room No 106 has one big window that opens in the corridor but The Regent Room 302 is windowless. Both rooms have ventilators that can be opened. However, Raj is a heritage hotel, an old palace converted into a hotel, whereas The Regent is a modern property. The en suite bathroom of Raj is much smaller than that of The Regent.

Both the rooms have intercoms, modern wide screen televisions, and tiled washrooms. Both the rooms were clean but The Regent was cleaner. Especially, the Raj en suite washroom requires thorough cleaning.

I just slept one night in Raj Mahal Hotel in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. So I do not know about the service standards and food served in the restaurant of Raj.

Here are photos of the Raj room:
