India welcomes foreign tourists to Turtuk

There is good news for adventure travelers like you. The Indian Government relaxed the Protected Area Permit Regime (PAPR) for Turtuk (Turtok), a Balti village in Leh district,  Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier only a group of four Indians could travel to Turtuk, but now foreigners can also visit in a group of twos.

However, you have to pay a fee of INR 1,395.00  to obtain the protected area permit (PAP). Contact the Ministry of Home Affairs, Foreign Division, Jaisalmer House, 26, Man Singh Road, New Delhifor the permit.
