- Shared auto rickshaws can accommodate up to ten passengers. The rickshaws are easily available and affordable. The tariff starts from INR 10.00 per passenger. However, shared rickshaw is not convenient. We preferred hiring it individually. It costs more. Minimum tariff amounts to INR 50.00 for non-shared auto. Non-shared auto, for example, charges INR 100.00 for a 20-minute New Bus Stand-Kangra Fort ride.
- Taxis are also available. Both taxi and auto rickshaw stands are within the New Bus Stand Complex and at Tehsil Chowk. Negotiate and agree on the price for your destination before getting in the taxi or auto, as neither of these transport means features rate meters.
- Public and private buses are the cheapest option. For instance, the bus fare for the New Bus Stand-Kangra Fort ride amounts to INR 3.00 per passenger. However, avoid boarding the buses during peak hours, as the buses are overloaded.
