Kakani village, about two-hour drive from the capital city of Nepal, is at the altitude of more than2,000 meters. The village in Nuwakot District is also known for strawberries.

Kakani lends itself to sweeping views of the snow-covered mountains, including Langtang Lirung (7,245 meters), Ganesh Himal (7,446 meters), Manasalu (8,165 meters) and Annapurana (8,091meters).

The Kakani to Bhanjyang trail, 3-hour walk, ends with a short steep climb. The hike winds through the forests of pine, oak and rhododendron, and leads to a trout fish farm. You can also enjoy sweeping views of theArunValleyand walk up to theSalpaHolyLakeat 3,414 meters.
