HPTDC teams up with STDCs and private hotel groups

Himachal Pradesh Development Corporation (H.P.T.D.C.) teamed up with the following state tourism development corporations (S.T.D.C.) and private hotel groups to promote each others’ tourism products and services:

  • Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation
  • Gujarat Tourism Development Corporation
  • Karnataka Tourism Development Corporation
  • Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation
  • Orissa Tourism Development Corporation
  • West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation

 

  • The ITC Limited (Maurya Sheraton) Hotel Division
  • The Oberoi Group of Hotels and Resorts
  • The Taj Group of Hotels, Resorts and Palaces

As per the terms and conditions, the state tourism corporations would earn 15% commission on the H.P.T.D.C. products and services sold by them.

The Great Indian Travel Bazaar 14-16 April, Jaipur: Survey on the present tourism scenario 2013. Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI)

FICCI conducted a survey to appraise the current status of the tourism sector. According to the survey, adventure tourism ranked third after leisure tourism and business and medical tourism. Read the complete findings of travel survey.

Govt. may introduce night flights connecting Delhi and J&K 

Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) state government and central government are exploring possibilities to operate night flights between New Delhi and Jammu and Srinagar to boost tourism.

3Ss for attracting Chinese tourists to Nepal 

The Chinese ambassador’s advice to Nepal includes focus on 3Ss: sun, smile and Siddhartha. The “sun” represents salubrious climate of Nepal. The “smile” is a symbol of hospitable nature of the Nepalese. The “Siddhartha” refers to Buddha who founded Buddhism.

2 upcoming festivals in Himachal Pradesh

Sipur near Mashobra (Shimla District) would organize 2-day annual Seepur (Sipur / Sihpur / Sipi) Fair on May 15, 2013.

Shimla would host Summer Festival 2013 from June 1.
