Brits: Far Away Holiday Destinations are Cheaper than Those in Neighborhood
Recent Skyscanner survey collated British vacationers’ responses to find the cheapest and the costliest holiday destinations. Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Denmark, Dubai, Iceland, Japan, Italy, France and Germany topped the “perceived country cost ranking” list. However, in “actual country cost ranking”, order changed and France, Switzerland, Denmark, Brazil, Russia, Japan, Italy, Spain, Iceland and Mexico secured top ten slots. When air fares were added to actual country cost, Japan was the most expensive destination, followed by Brazil, France, Switzerland, Denmark, Australia, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia and Canada.
Brits perceived that India, Thailand and Morocco are the cheapest destinations whereas Cyprus, Greece and South Africawere ranked as the most budget-friendly destinations considering actual country cost. On adding airfare to the actual country cost, Cyprus and Greece retained their first and second place, but Morocco replaced South Africa for the third place in the cheapest destination lists. Thus, it would not be wrong to say that far away holiday destinations are cheaper than those in the neighborhood.
