Rajiv Gandhi Adventure Scheme standardizes adventure activities

With the launch of Rajiv Gandhi Adventure Scheme in June 2009, the Department of Youth Affairs of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India has taken another step to promote adventure tourism in the country. You can enroll as a volunteer under the scheme to learn and enjoy different adventure activities. The scheme objective is to consolidate and standardize the adventure activities organized by various stakeholders. The ministry offers financial help for these activities. The scheme covers seven (7) national level adventure institutes:

Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (ABVIMAS)

Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI)

Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF)

Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering (JIM)

National Adventure Foundation (NAF)

Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM)

Sea Explorers’ Institute
