4 perspectives for outdoor adventure research

Ewert, Alan. (1987). Research in Outdoor Adventure: Overview and Analysis. The Bradford Papers Annual. Vol. II. 1987.

In this paper, an attempt was made to find ways that could enhance effectiveness of outdoor adventure research work. The author argued that improved research methods would benefit both natural environment and participants, and aid in developing focused outdoor adventure programs. The programs will enhance educational, physical, psychological and sociological benefits of the adventure. Besides examining existing research work and tools used, the author suggested four different slants for outdoor adventure research work: economic, environmental, psychological and sociological.
