Why Should You not Wear New Clothes on Holi?
Generally, festivals are the best time to flaunt the best clothes and accessories. However, on Holi, the festival of colors, you should wear ragged and old clothes. On Holi day, Indians apply colors to their friends, family members and guests for fun and joy. Some mischievous people even throw balloons filled with plain water / colored-water and / or spray colored water on passersby. If you intend to play Holi or go out on the day (March 1, 2010), be prepared to get balloons filled with plain water / colored-water, colored water sprays and / or smears of dry powder colors. It will be difficult to get stubborn stains of colors out of clothes so wear old clothes.
