Learning and training amid gorgeous surroundings has a positive impact on both learners and teachers. There could be no better place thanJammu and Kashmir(J&K) to master basics of adventure sports. You can learn nuts and bolts of four adventure sports, viz mountaineering, paragliding, skiing and white water rafting at the Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports (JIMWS). JIMWS manages four sub-centers in different parts of the state: Nalthi Bhaderwah, Sanasar-Patnitop-Kud, Shey (Leh) and Gulmarg. You can learn survival tips and tricks at Nalthi and Patnitop sub-centers. Shey sub-center conducts courses in rock climbing, river crossing and trekking. Adhoc Sub Center Gulmarg offers courses in skiing during winter. Contact or visit the institute online.
