Climb Yangshuo Crags

Yangshuo, a twenty-century old county in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in south China, lends itself to gorgeous views of rivers and hills, especially karst peaks made up of tropical limestone. The county is about 65 kilometers from Guilin that is two and half hours from Shanghai by flight. Guilin, a prefecture city, is famous for its osmanthus trees and beautifully scenery.

Yangshuo is emerging as adventure capital of the country. Bewitching karst formations of the county have been drawing local and international rock climbers since early 1990s. The area boasts over five hundred well-marked routes, graded 5.7 to 5.15 (US), on the crags. The most frequented crags include Baby Frog, Bamboo Grove,LowMountain, Moon Hill, Twin Gates and Wine Bottle. There are many more routes to be discovered. There is no dearth of challenges for rock climbers of all levels. You can test your climbing skills on slippery slopes, small crimps, honking big jugs, tufas, cracks, stalagtites… But, you may have to pay a climbing fee of RMB 10.00 per day for some crags.
